One of my fundamental beliefs is that a healthy mom means a healthy baby, family, and community, and so prioritizing a woman's emotional and psychological well-being is paramount.
Specific Expertise
Reproductive and women's mental health including: pregnancy related mood and anxiety conditions, postpartum anxiety, depression, and psychosis, fertility related stress, premenstrual and perimenopausal hormonal issues, and life/identity transitions for women.
WHAT DROVE YOU TO THIS WORK?
I find there are a lot of misconceptions in this field, and many women find themselves navigating this sphere alone, without guidance. My job is to fill that space.
I recently completed a fellowship in integrative mental health, as many of my patients ask about non-prescription (more holistic) ways to improve their mental health and well-being, and I've incorporated that into my treatment plans.
I’ve also launched an educational website called Mind Body Pregnancy, aimed to inform women, their partners, and their providers around reproductive mental health.
What inspires your work?
The women I work with are so motivated to get healthy and really utilize treatments to their full potential. I get to be rewarded when women see improvements and remissions of symptoms.
