You’ve just pushed a baby out and/or had a major surgery—you’re amazing! Know this: The recovery process takes time. We believe that seeing a pelvic floor physical therapist postpartum can do wonders for a healthy, supported recovery. Bonus: Your 60-year-old self will thank you.

There is a lot going on postpartum. For starters, there’s the hormonal roller coaster, lack of sleep, and the needs of a new baby. With all that’s going on, prioritizing our mental health can be easier said than done. By working with our postpartum mental health provider, together you can address identity shifts, changes in body and relationship dynamics, and other areas of concern.

Acupuncture provides specialized protocols to replenish the body and mind after having a baby. From helping with milk production and physical healing, to hormone regulation, (think mood swings, night sweats, sleep disturbances) to addressing physical challenges (like clogged ducts/mastitis, constipation, pain, hair loss), acupuncture can support a healthy recovery.

Postpartum, typically you see your OB for a 6-week follow up and have a few pediatrician appointments. However, this time of recovery and constant care of a newborn can bring up many questions and/or concerns. Postpartum midwifery care includes discussing topics that include but are not limited to:
Post Birth Recovery and Care
Feeding and Baby Weight Gain
Emotional and Hormonal Changes/Transitions
Nutrition and Exercise Guidance
Family Planning

It goes without saying, but pregnancy takes a lot of energy. Combine this with your baby’s nutritional needs (if you’re breastfeeding) plus a lack of sleep, and it’s likely that your nutrient intake and stores could use some attention. Our functional nutritionist can help you properly fuel your body postpartum for deeper, more restorative sleep, decreased anxiety and depression, boosted energy, and fewer cravings. And that’s just the beginning.
